The Chashma Ottica 1337 is a rimless frame in titanium, finished with crystal accents where the lens meets the mount. With no rim at all, the lens is fixed directly to the bridge and temples and the frame all but disappears from the front — the faceted lens edge and the small stones at the mounting points are the only things that catch the light.
Titanium is what makes a rimless frame practical. With no rim to distribute the load, the bridge and temples carry the entire weight of the lens at a very small cross-section, and they have to stay rigid through months of being folded and unfolded. Titanium does this without corroding from skin contact, without the weight of steel, and without the nickel that provokes a reaction in some wearers.
