Pure titanium throughout. A shallow lens means a shallow rim, and a shallow rim in alloy would flex enough to let the lens work loose over a year of taking the glasses on and off. Titanium keeps the section thin without that problem, does not fatigue at the hinge, and does not corrode where it sits on the nose.
