The Reven Jate 18108 takes the cat eye shape and builds it in acetate, which changes the character of the frame entirely. Where a thermoplastic frame disappears on the face, acetate has presence: depth in the material, warmth in the color, and a front thick enough to carry a pattern. Six colorways are available.
Acetate is a plant-based plastic pressed into sheets and cut, rather than injected into a mold. The color lives inside the sheet, which is why acetate frames can carry marbling, tortoise patterning and gradients that a molded frame cannot reproduce. It is heavier than TR-90 and warmer against the skin, and an optician can adjust it with gentle heat so it sits better across the nose and ears.
The upsweep at the outer corners is the defining line of the frame, softened here by the rounded acetate edges. The wider front and thicker rim give the shape more weight on the face than a metal cat eye would have — this is a frame meant to be noticed. Full rim construction supports the lens on every edge.
